More than 40 sheep die on a rural property in Bahia
Forty-three sheep died on a rural property in the city of Araci, about 210 kilometers from Salvador. According to the animal breeder, who did not want to be identified, the deaths occurred after the sheep were fed industrialized feed.
The case happened on Saturday (11), but was only announced this Wednesday (15). According to the animal breeder, the loss is R$ 12 thousand.
According to the breeder, the sheep were fed industrialized feed and, shortly after, they began to feel ill.
A video taken by the owner shows the animals dying in the grass. Of the 60 intoxicated sheep, 17 were rescued in time and survived. Another 43 did not survive.
There is still no confirmation that the feed caused the death of the animals, so the name of the company that produces the feed has not been disclosed.
The animal breeder stated that he will investigate the cause of the herd’s death.
