The Secretary of Security of Piauí, Chico Lucasannounced this Wednesday afternoon (15) the launch of Operation Silence and Peace to combat crimes against public peace in the capital and in the interior. The decision was adopted during a meeting between the commanders of the state security forces.
“We are here on this November 15th holiday, meeting with all the force commanders discussing the last three fortnights of the year, mainly the operations that we are going to undertake to maintain security in the state of Piauí and maintain the numbers that have improved significantly, mainly in Teresina “, he said.

According to Chico Lucas, the operation will integrate the police in actions that will be carried out on weekends at the end of the year. He explained that the measure aims to guarantee tranquility in neighborhoods and prevent drunkenness, for example, from developing into more serious crimes.
“One of the strategies we are going to launch at the weekend is Operation Silence and Peace. We are going to monitor what has the highest number of occurrences within our emergency services, which is the disturbance of public peace and which results from it as many other serious crimes as homicide after drinking and the issue of domestic violence”, he commented.
The actions of Operation Silence and Peace will begin next Friday (17) and will involve the Military Police, Civil Police, Fire Department, State Secretariat for the Environment and Water Resources and other institutions.
