A man was crushed to death this Tuesday afternoon (14), while changing the tire of a trailer on the BR-070, near the community of Galo Velho, in Primavera do Leste, 239 km from Cuiabá. The victim was identified as Edvaldo Bezerra Leite.
According to the Fire Department, the victim was called to change one of the trailer’s tires and, upon completing the work, authorized the vehicle driver to continue the journey.
However, he realized that he had forgotten a hydraulic jack under the trailer. When trying to remove the tool, the driver of the vehicle did not realize that the man was still under the trailer and ended up going over the victim’s head.
Firefighters were called and provided assistance to the driver of the truck who was very nervous.
The Federal Highway Police (PRF), the Official Forensics and Technical Identification (Politec-MT) and the Civil Police of General Carneiro were also at the scene.
