On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 14, civil police officers from the Criminal Investigation Division – DIC of Blumenau and the Intelligence Center – NINT of the 3rd DRP of Blumenau, located a 57-year-old man, who had been on the run for more than three years from 2nd Court of the Children and Youth District of Rio Branco/AC, for committing the crime of rape of a vulnerable person against children aged 3 to 9 years.
According to the Police, in the period between April 15, 2016 and June 30, 2017, the author committed the crime of raping a vulnerable person several times, taking advantage of his status as a church pastor to commit such acts.
The victims were between 5 and 9 years old and were taken to the accused’s residence, where they had their private parts touched by him.
It was suspected that the man had fled abroad, which is why his name was included on the Interpol red list, an international police cooperation tool that aims to locate those wanted by the justice system for extradition purposes.
The man was captured in Bairro Velha Grande, in the city of Blumenau, and later brought to the DIC headquarters for standard procedures.
Afterwards, the man was taken to the Blumenau Regional Prison, and will be available to the Judiciary of Acre.
