
A 19-year-old young man was identified in Paraíso do Tocantins, in the central region of the state, on suspicion of involvement in a murder recorded in Palmas. The crime took place in June this year and in addition to shooting, the suspect allegedly tried to cut off the victim’s head with a knife.
According to information from the Civil Police, the investigation found that the crime took place in the context of a fight between rival factions. The main suspect was already arrested for seven other deaths and the police served a warrant for another crime.
The investigation found that in addition to the cruel homicide, he also recorded the action and made the videos available through social media and messaging applications.
According to delegate Israel Andrade, responsible for the investigation, it was discovered that the young man was in Paraíso. Thus, teams from the 1st Homicide and Personal Protection Division (DHPP – Palmas) and the 6th Organized Crime Combat Division (DEIC – Paraíso) served an arrest warrant for the suspect on Tuesday morning.
