
The Secretary of State for Social Assistance and Development, Kátia Born, highlighted the fact that the Government of Alagoas is the only one in the country to have more women than men in the first echelon of the Executive Branch. With 15 women holding positions as Secretary of State, the management is committed to doing the best for the state and working to make all men aware of the role of women in the world. Kátia highlighted the importance of organizations adhering to the standards established in the booklet, and stated that all secretaries will be vigilant to ensure positive results.
The ABNT PR 1019 standard was developed with the collaboration of several experts and provides essential guidelines to guarantee the safety, protection and rights of women in different contexts. The president of ABNT, Mario William Esper, emphasized that the standard will be adopted by organizations and companies, contributing to the reduction of alarming figures of violence against women.
Representatives of the State Secretariats for Women and Human Rights, Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, and Tourism were in charge of organizing the event, together with ABNT and Instituto Nós por Elas. State department managers highlighted the importance of launching the booklet and highlighted the need to care for women in vulnerable situations, such as black, quilombola, indigenous and peripheral women.
The president of the Nós por Elas Institute, Marcela Bocayuva, thanked the State secretariats for their commitment and highlighted the importance of creating incentives for companies and organizations to be engaged in this cause. Actress and model Luiza Brunet, ambassador of Nós por Elas, praised the initiative of the Government of Alagoas in launching the booklet, highlighting public policies aimed at combating violence against women in the state.
