Christmas traffic lights without power, this Wednesday morning (15)
Several neighborhoods in Natal experienced a power outage on the morning of this Wednesday (15th), the Proclamation of the Republic holiday. According to Neoenergia Cosern, around 212 thousand consumers were affected in the South, East and West Zones of the capital.
Also according to the company, the shutdown of Chesf’s Natal II Substation, recorded at 9:38 am this Wednesday (15), left eight Neoenergia substations without power.
Supply to 100% of customers was reestablished within 25 minutes, according to a note issued by the company.
“Neoenergia Cosern is in contact with Chesf and the National System Operator (ONS) and is awaiting a report with the causes of the occurrence”, says the note.
g1 also contacted Chesf’s press office, but did not receive any feedback on the matter until the last update of this article.
According to the capital’s Urban Mobility Secretariat, the traffic lights on avenues Prudente de Morais, Miguel Castro, Salgado Filho, Romualdo Galvão, Interventor Mário Câmara, Amintas Barros and Rua Jaguarari were affected by the power outage.
“Traffic light maintenance teams and mobility agents are on standby to provide support in the city’s main corridors,” the ministry said.
