Sicredi Centro Leste RS expands operations to Minas Gerais

-

The associates of Sicredi Centro Leste RS decided to expand the cooperative’s activities to the state of Minas Gerais. In a vote carried out until last Thursday (9), at 5 pm, the proposal was approved by the 49 groups of the cooperative. “We concluded our planning in September, with a physical presence in 100% of the municipalities we operate in Rio Grande do Sul. This enables us to follow the path of other cooperatives in the System and expand our operations to another State”, highlights the president from Sicredi Centro Leste RS, Paulo Alex Falcão.

For the executive director, Fabio Silva, the cooperative takes another important step in its 41-year history and business plan. “We realized that this area where the incorporation will take place is promising for our business model. We are convinced that, following the example we do here in the Central East region of the State, we can develop credit cooperatives there and contribute to the economic and social development of the region”, he emphasizes.

Last Saturday (11), in Guaíba (RS), the 138 Sicredi Centro Leste Center coordinators approved the sequence of feasibility studies for the expansion process, with the creation of a committee of associates that will evaluate the audits carried out in both cooperatives, being the basis for issuing the final report, which will allow delegates to complete the vote on December 9th.

On this day, a new assembly, with the participation of delegates from the two cooperatives, must ratify the decision on the incorporation. “Once this process is complete, all that remains is approval from the Central Bank. Our expectation is that, from February 2024, we will be able to operate in an integrated manner, joining forces and contributing to the development of credit cooperatives in Minas”, highlights Falcão.
