Couples are robbed on the edge of Itaparica

An armed man on a bicycle robbed four people early this Wednesday morning (15) on the promenade of Praia de Itaparica, in Vila Velha, in Greater Vitória. At the time of the crime, many people used the boardwalk to practice physical activities.

It was around 7am when the criminal approached a couple walking along the shore and demanded the man’s chain and rings.

The couple told the reporter that they often walk on the boardwalk, but the man said he never imagined he would experience a situation like this.

“He arrived by surprise at my side, approached me and placed 38 to 20 centimeters from my face, pulled my chain and asked for the ring. The ring took a while to come off my finger and the We worry about getting shot. In front of everyone, at 7am on the boardwalk. We are very scared because of this insecurity. I’ve never been through this, a situation of complete vulnerability”, said the man.

The woman said that, initially, she thought it was a joke.

“At the time I thought it was a joke but then when I saw the gun I got worried because his wedding ring didn’t want to come off, but thank God the worst didn’t happen. What matters are our lives. We always play sports, okay? walking, walking, sometimes I’m alone and with him. Now we’ll be more alert”, said the woman.

Then another couple was robbed. The two were very scared and the man said that his cord was also stolen and the suspect also arrived threatening with the gun, robbed him and then fled towards Praça dos Ciclistas.

Residents complained about frequent robberies in the region. When contacted, the Military Police reported that they carry out overt policing on a daily basis throughout the Itaparica neighborhood, in Vila Velha, with preventive patrolling 24 hours a day, in addition to approaches, preventive actions and reassuring visits to businesses.

He also said that the PM’s reinforcement actions are carried out strategically, as shown in the crime map, which indicates the places with the highest incidence of incidents.

“The region’s command reinforces that it is always available to the community to talk about the security actions carried out on site and adapt it in the best possible way”, informed the PM.
