Lawyer offers boat worth R$10,000 to anyone who finds a lost kitten in Palmas
Anyone who loves animals can imagine the pain of lawyer Marluy Dias Ferreira. In recent days, she has dedicated herself to finding the kitten Thomáz, aged 2 years and seven months, who disappeared after escaping from a clinic in Palmas. To mobilize residents, the guardian posted posters in the city and on social media, offering a boat valued at more than R$10,000 as a reward.
With tears in his eyes, Marluy says he took the little animal to a clinic, on the old block 112 Sul, on October 31st. The suspicion is that he had urinary obstruction.
“I went to the clinic and the vet said that Thomáz had a problem with his kidneys. He said he would take serum, receive medication and then he would do the tests. On November 1st, at 9:30 am, I went back there, and my kitten he wasn’t there anymore. They told me he had escaped from the stall.”
The owner said she requested images from security cameras, but the veterinarian stated that the employee responsible was on vacation.
Marluy was desperate. Since then, she and her family have been searching for the little animal. At first, they offered a reward of R$1,000, but decided to expand it to draw people’s attention to the cause.
The lawyer said that she has already received several calls and messages from people looking to help, but none of the cats located were Thomáz. He’s all white, has blue eyes and his paws are shaved because of the serum.
The cat is much loved and was rescued by the family two years ago. At the time, Marluy’s husband went to deliver a vessel in a region of Palmas and saw a kitten in a bar. The little animal got into the car, as if it was asking for a home.
The lawyer’s husband decided to take him home. The initial idea was to care for the animal and put it up for adoption. But, over time, their love grew and they decided to keep the cat.
Marluy cries just thinking about Thomáz suffering.
“I just want my cat. Our concern is that we don’t know how he is physically. What I want most is to find him.”
