The Executive Secretary of Entrepreneurship of Paraíba, Fabrício Feitosa, celebrated the State’s holding of the event and highlighted that one of the ways for management to promote the strengthening of cooperativism and the process of commercializing family farming products is by promoting this productive sector through Empreender PB program. “Paraíba continues to stand out in the Northeast and in Brazil, and the holding of Fenafes in our state is further proof of this. For Empreender Paraíba, it is strategic to participate in this moment, as one of our responsibilities is to support family farming and local productive arrangements”, declared the head of the department.

Fabrício also said that the Empreender Paraíba team will be informing Fenafes participants about the program. In addition, the State Entrepreneurship secretariat will release 30 credit opportunities of up to R$200,000 during the event for projects eligible for granting the resource.

“We will be offering financial support for the program to the cooperatives in Paraíba that participate in the event and explaining to all visitors about how the Program works. We estimate to offer 30 credit opportunities that can reach up to 200 thousand each. In this case, the value could reach R$6 million, depending on the analysis that will be carried out individually for each project”, explained the secretary.

During the program, training events, lectures, workshops and courses will be held on the central themes: access to land; agri-food systems and healthy food production; Agroecology; Technical Assistance and Rural Extension and access to credit; climate changes; access to markets, cooperative solidarity and female protagonism.

The event is free and open to the public, and will feature the participation of more than 300 cooperatives and associations, involving more than 500 exhibitors from the nine northeastern states, in addition to the expectation of a total visiting public of more than 15,000 people during the four days of the event. Fenafes. The target audience is made up of students, professionals from different areas, researchers, family farmers, extension workers and interested parties in general.

Fenafes aims to be a strategic space for reaffirming the cultural identity, knowledge and flavors that mark and characterize the people of the Northeast, with the “Sabores da Terra” food wing and a broad cultural program with shows by Northeastern artists and various presentations.

The fair aims to strengthen public policy integration initiatives articulated around the Healthy Food Program of the Northeast (PAS/NE), create a space for exchanging experiences on public policies to support family farming already underway in the region, involving governments and social movements, strengthen solidarity cooperativism and the commercialization process, through business rounds, for the institutional and private market.
