The Department of Highways of Paraná (DER/PR), an agency of the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (SEIL), will completely release traffic on Estrada da Graciosa (PR-410) from 5pm this Tuesday (14) , in Morretes, Litoral region.
The section, currently in the final phase of slope recovery work, is in stop-and-go operation from km 11 to km 12 and with night blocking from 9pm until 7am. But from this Tuesday (14th) all lane and time restrictions will be lifted, with traffic returning to flow regularly across the entire stretch, 24 hours a day.
The recovery services for the slopes of Graciosa will still remain ongoing for a few more weeks, but concentrated at points further down the highway, at km 11+200 and km 11+600, with no need to block a lane, nor any risk of new damage with passing vehicles.
The most recent damage caused by rain was recorded in this km, a few months after the initial landslides and vegetation, in km 7, km 8 and km 12, which were released some time ago.
In addition to reinforcing the damaged slope at km 11, more drainage devices will be implemented at other points, to facilitate the drainage of rainwater and groundwater. To carry out these and other services necessary to complete the work, partial road closures may be carried out, but on a punctual basis and lasting a few hours.
Due to its characteristics, being a historic highway with a route full of narrow curves, normal restrictions regarding heavy vehicles remain in Graciosa.
MAPPING – In order to prevent future damage to Estrada da Graciosa, the DER/PR launched a notice this month to contract the assessment of slopes and embankments of the highway between km 6 and km 16.
The notice includes laser mapping and profiling services in an aerial vehicle, assessment of drainage conditions, assessment of geotechnical conditions and carrying out surveys, consolidation of studies on the stretch and preparation of a risk map, and the preparation of basic construction projects engineering for the identified critical points.
