Man is shot dead at Academia da Cidade in Recife

A 35-year-old man was shot dead at the Academia da Cidade do Alto Santa Terezinha, in the North Zone of Recife. The crime was recorded by a security camera (see video above). The images are strong and show the moment when the criminal comes up behind the victim and shoots him in the back.

The crime occurred on Monday (13), next to Compaz Eduardo Campos. In a video recorded by the local monitoring circuit, it is possible to see the victim sitting on a bicycle, in the company of another boy, when the shooter arrives running from behind, pointing a gun in their direction.

After shooting several times, the criminal fled, running back in the direction he came from. The boy who was next to the victim also left the scene while the shots were being fired.

The Civil Police reported that the crime was registered by the Capital Homicide Task Force. According to the corporation, the victim was taken to a hospital, but did not survive his injuries.

In a statement, the city of Recife said it regrets what happened and hopes that “the state government and police authorities can clarify the case, which is responsible for managing public security.”
