The temperature of 37ºC in Campo Grande made Enem (National High School Exam) candidates prepare against the heat this Sunday. Light clothes, lots of water and fans were part of the wait to enter the test rooms. There were those who needed coconut water both because of the heat and because of the nervousness of facing the second day of the exam.

This is the case of Lavínia Letícia Ramos Paim, 18 years old. Fanning herself with her hand all the time, she appeared not only to be hot, but also quite anxious. “I even had to buy coconut water, because I was already feeling sick, because in there I would be very tense, I was already very nervous. I brought a bottle of water too,” she reported.

The kit he took into the room contained very cold soda and snacks. “The heat had an influence, because I brought very cold soda and snacks. And it’s really hot,” she said. She was wearing light fabric pants, crop tops and sandals.

“The lower part because of the air conditioning in the room. It gets a little cold, but not too much, it’s very hot out here, so I think it will be more or less inside.” She took the test at UCDB (Dom Bosco Catholic University).

At Hércules Maymone State School, the room where Maria Eduarda de Matos Barbosa, 17, took the test last week will be the same today and the space only has a fan. “It was very hot last week. I don’t remember the fan working, but I don’t think so. So, we are on our own, as I said, we have to come in lighter clothes”, she assessed.

Drinking a lot of water just before taking the exam, Maria Eduarda recalled that the Enem notice itself asks candidates to bring a bottle. “They already warn you in the notice, right? To take a bottle of water, because we don’t always have a disposable cup or something we can drink from.”

The document also talks about what to wear in case of cold or heat, recommending that you take a coat because “it may be that some universities or schools have air conditioning. But most of the time you don’t have one, so you have to come with lighter clothes”, he commented.

This Sunday, 33 thousand candidates take the test, which will have 45 questions on Natural Sciences and its Technologies (Chemistry, Physics and Biology) and 45 questions on Mathematics and its Technologies. The application will last 5 hours, counting from the room manager’s authorization for the start of the tests.
