New outbreaks of avian influenza in SC and SP in wild birds bring Brazil to 145 occurrences

According to the afternoon update this Thursday (9) from the platform of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), dedicated to reporting cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza, two more cases were confirmed in São Paulo and Santa Catarina . Thus, the country now has 145 cases of the disease, 3 in subsistence birds and 5 in marine mammals.

The records were in a Northern Tern in Penha, in the State of Santa Catarina, and the other, in a Black Shearwater type bird in São Sebastião, on the coast of São Paulo.

In Brazil, to date, there are still 9 suspected cases of contamination of the disease under investigation.

TOTAL CASES OF BIRD FLU IN BRAZIL: 145

Espírito Santo: 31 (30 in wild birds and 01 in subsistence birds)

Rio de Janeiro: 23 (wild birds)

Rio Grande do Sul: 05 (02 in wild birds and 03 in marine animals)

São Paulo: 49 (48 in wild birds and 01 in marine mammals)

Bahia: 04 (wild birds)

Paraná: 12 (wild birds)

Santa Catarina: 20 (18 in wild birds, 01 in subsistence birds and 01 in marine mammals)

Mato Grosso do Sul: 01 subsistence bird
