The launch of Correios’ Santa Claus campaign in Alagoas will be held next Tuesday, the 14th, at 10am, at the stand in front of Praça Central do Maceió Shopping – Correios’ regional partner in this important solidarity action.
To make this occasion even more special, the opening of the 2023 edition of the campaign will feature the performance of the Pontos de Luz Choir, made up of 20 children assisted by Lar São Domingos; as well as Santa Claus’s meeting with students from public schools Major Eduardo Emiliano da Fonseca and Rui Palmeira, who will deliver their orders personally to Bom Velhinho.
For the ninth year in a row, Santa’s Office will open in Praça Central do Maceió Shopping – with opening hours from 9am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday – and from 12pm to 9pm on Sundays. The space will be a point for receiving and adopting letters, as well as receiving gifts.
Solidarity that multiplies
The campaign, for 34 years, has made available letters with requests from children enrolled in the 1st to 5th year of Elementary School, regardless of age, from public schools and partner institutions, such as daycare centers, shelters, orphanages and socio-educational centers.
Since 2010, Correios has established partnerships with the Departments of Education, in order to work on actions such as developing letter writing skills, correct addressing and the use of ZIP codes, as well as promoting social inclusion.
Letters sent by children up to 10 years of age in socially vulnerable situations are also selected and made available for adoption.
In more than three decades of campaigning, more than 6.3 million letters were answered. In 2022, around 187 thousand letters were adopted throughout Brazil, of which 6 thousand children were adopted in Alagoas alone.
How to send a letter
As encouragers of creativity and text writing, the Post Office requires that letters be handwritten. In addition, each letter must contain the child’s CPF for registration. Sending can be done in three ways: at participating agencies, via Blog do Noel (blognoel.correios.com.br), or directly at the Santa Claus Office, located in Maceió Shopping. The deadline for receiving letters in Alagoas is December 1st.
For letters sent digitally, it is necessary to photograph or scan them to send to the Blog. Meeting the criteria, the letters are made available for adoption. It is important to highlight that letters that contain the child’s address, telephone number or photo are not selected.
Godfathers and bridesmaids
To adopt one or more letters, just visit the Correios Santa Claus Office (located in Maceió Shopping) or access the campaign blog. On the page, click on “Online Adoption” and follow the steps. To view the cards available in each city or municipality, you must choose the location. Those who want to get their dreams off the ground should pay attention to the different start and end dates of the campaign in each state. In Alagoas, the campaign runs from November 14th to December 20th.
Be aware: the Post Office does not distribute adoption letters directly to the population, at their homes. Letters from Santa Claus from Correios de Alagoas are only available at the Santa Claus Office (in Maceió Shopping), at some participating agencies in the interior of the state or through Blog Noel (blognoel.correios.com.br). And so that the company can monitor adoptions and gift deliveries, godparents must register their CPF or CNPJ.
Gifts must be delivered in person, at the delivery point closest to the location indicated on the Blog and according to the campaign schedule. Gifts must be identified with the information on the card.
So that this great gesture of solidarity reaches more and more children, Correios invites the whole of society to participate! Let’s all strengthen this chain of good and contribute to a Christmas with much more magic and happiness for needy children in the state of Alagoas.
More information is available on Noel’s Blog, which can also be accessed through the portal www.correios.com.br.
