With sponsorship from the Capixaba Sport Incentive Law (LIEC), the Unicapixaba team won the title of four-time champion of the Brazilian Football Championship 7, last Sunday (05), in São Paulo-SP. The victory came after the Espírito Santo team defeated Bagagem from Paraná.
The competition is considered the main sport in the country and brought together 32 teams from seven states.
The clash between Unicapixaba and Bagagem ended 2-0 in shootouts, after a 2-2 draw in normal time. With two beautiful saves from goalkeeper Junior, Unicapixaba prevailed and won the title.
In addition to the achievement, Nascimento and Maurição were elected as “Best Player” and “Best Coach” of the competition, respectively. The team also had the best attack of the tournament, scoring 20 goals.
In April, Unicapixaba had already achieved an important international title by winning the third title of the Copa Libertadores da América in Montevideo, Uruguay, using air tickets granted by the Voe Atleta program, from the Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Sesport).
