In a universe of almost 20 thousand professionals registered in Rio Grande do Norte, decisions that affect Engineering, Agronomy and Geosciences have a great weight. The candidates with the highest number of votes are elected to raise proposals, promote the evolution of professions and, consequently, socioeconomic and environmental development, and take care of the needs of those who are at the forefront and need the services of the Councils to carry out their technical activities with excellence. and professional ethics.
The objective of this change in the voting format from in-person to virtual is to generate greater reach and integrate even more engineers, agronomists, geoscientists and technologists. “The goal is to increase the number of professionals who will participate in the electoral process, voting on election day. In previous elections, the number of voters was small for the universe of professionals registered in the System”, explains the coordinator of the Electoral Commission of Crea-RN, Eng. Civ. and Labor Security Engineer Vital Duarte Nóbrega.
This online voting model has been a reality in other professional councils for some time. “Confea made sure it was safe to implement this process. The councils that already vote online managed to increase the participation of professionals, so, for us, it represents a greater democratization of the System”, says the coordinator.
