Next Tuesday (14), Correios will launch the Santa Claus campaign in Alagoas, at 10am, at the stand in front of Praça Central do Maceió Shopping, in the Mangabeiras neighborhood.
The opening of the 2023 edition of the campaign will feature the performance of the Coral Pontos de Luz, made up of 20 children assisted by Lar São Domingos, as well as Santa Claus meeting students from the Major Eduardo Emiliano da Fonseca and Rui Palmeira public schools.
The event will feature Santa’s Office, which will be open for the ninth year in a row, at Praça Central do Maceió Shopping – with opening hours from 9am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 12pm to 9pm on Sundays. The space will be a point for receiving and adopting letters, as well as receiving gifts.
For 34 years, the campaign has provided letters with requests from children enrolled in the 1st to 5th year of elementary school, regardless of age, from public schools and partner institutions, such as daycare centers, shelters, orphanages and socio-educational centers.
The Post Office has established partnerships, since 2010, with the Departments of Education, in order to work on actions such as developing letter writing skills, correct addressing and the use of ZIP codes, as well as promoting social inclusion.
In 2022, around 187 thousand letters were adopted throughout Brazil, 6 thousand children in Alagoas alone.
To send, the Post Office requires that the letters be handwritten and, on each letter, the child’s CPF must be included for registration. Sending can be done in three ways: at participating agencies, via Blog do Noel (blognoel.correios.com.br), or directly at the Santa Claus Office, located in Maceió Shopping. The maximum deadline for receipt in Alagoas is December 1st. For letters sent digitally, it is necessary to photograph or scan them to send to the Blog. Meeting the criteria, the letters are made available for adoption. It is important to highlight that letters that contain the child’s address, telephone number or photo are not selected.
