The State Department of Traffic of Amazonas (Detran-AM), in partnership with other state bodies, continues to intensify actions to inhibit the practice of traffic violations that compromise road safety, as well as repress the practice of “rolezinhos” (when the driver of the motorcycle performs risky and dangerous maneuvers). Between Monday (06/11) and Wednesday (08/11), 188 fines were issued and 73 illegal motorcycles were removed.
According to Arthur Cruz, Inspection coordinator at Detran-AM, the tendency is for approaches to be intensified in favor of the well-being and peace of mind of the population. “We are aware of the countless discomforts caused by ‘rolezinhos’ and we reinforce that initiatives like this (operation) are important steps to guarantee the integrity of all citizens”, he comments.
Also according to Arthur, in the early hours of this Thursday (09/11), the Inspection team, which has the support of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP-AM), Amazonas Military Police (PM-AM) and Civil Police from Amazonas (PC-AM), dismantled an attempted “rolezinho” in the west zone of the capital.
The practice would take place on a section of Avenida do Turismo, in the Tarumã neighborhood and also in the Ponta Negra neighborhood. During the action, 20 motorcycles were removed. “In addition, between Monday and Tuesday, we removed 53 illegal motorcycles in the south and east zones of the city. Detran Amazonas, together with the Security Forces, continues to operate in all areas of Manaus”, he concludes.
