
The Federal Police of Acre launched, this Thursday (9), Operation EASY CASH, which in translation means “easy money”, against a criminal group responsible for causing a loss of around R$ 100 thousand to Caixa Econômica Federal .
According to the PF, the investigations began after communication from Caixa Econômica regarding a former public employee of the institution who, in collusion with third parties, carried out fraud through the federal public company’s systems.
In total, eight search and seizure warrants were executed in the cities of Rio Branco and Vilhena (RO), all issued by the 1st Federal Civil and Criminal Court of the Judiciary Section of Acre. The operation involved approximately 40 federal police officers.
Those investigated may be liable for the crimes of major embezzlement, embezzlement and insertion of false data into information systems. Added to the penalties, convictions can reach more than 20 years in prison.
