After being seen driving around Portugal, the sales leader in the Brazilian market since 2021, Fiat Strada, will arrive in new markets in Africa in November.
Strada is a completely Brazilian project and was launched 25 years ago, always being present among the main compact pickup trucks in Brazil. This year alone, more than 90,000 units of the pickup have already been sold, placing it as the isolated leader not only in its segment, but among all cars and light commercial vehicles.
Exporting the Strada is nothing new for Fiat. The model is present in other markets in South America, such as Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina. It has also had a presence outside the continent in its previous generation in countries such as South Africa, Greece, Portugal, Turkey and Germany.

Now, the pickup will be present in eight more markets on the African continent, namely: Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Guinea-Conakry, Madagascar, Rwanda and Ghana. In the released statement, Stellantis also states that the Strada will also arrive in the Middle East, but has not yet announced the countries in which the pickup will be available.

Current Configuration
The Fiat Strada has undergone several modifications and renovations throughout its history. The most recent, in 2020, brought a new look to the truck and was completely inspired by its bigger sister, the Toro.

In addition to the last update in 2020, this year the pickup has already undergone some aesthetic and mechanical changes, with the highlight being the introduction of the new T200 1.0 turbo engine in the truck, becoming the first 1.0 turbo pickup in the world.

Here, the model is offered in 7 versions and two different engines. The variants are: Endurance, Freedom CS, Freedom CD, Volcano MT, Volcano CVT, Ranch and Ultra. Only the Ranch and Ultra are equipped with a 130 hp 1.0 turbo engine, always with a CVT transmission. All others use a 1.3 naturally aspirated engine with up to 107 hp and can have a five-speed manual transmission or CVT.
These are the configurations here, but there is no confirmation of which mechanics will be exported to African countries.
