The Mounted Police Regiment (RPMon) received this Tuesday, 7th, a visit from the General Commander of the Military Police, Colonel QOPM Márcio Antônio Barbosa. The purpose of the visit was to see the unit’s facilities and honor the work carried out by the military.

In addition to the General Commander, the Chief of the General Staff, Colonel Cláudio Thomaz Coelho de Souza, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Colonel QOPM Marizon Mendes Marques and the Commander of Specialized Policing, Colonel QOPM Ricardo Borges Ferrão, participated in the visit.

On the occasion, the General Commander highlighted the importance of implementing Hippotherapy in the institution, as this will be an innovative service in Public Administration in Palmas-TO.

About the Cavalry:

Established in the PMTO’s operational structure by Decree No. 6,271, of June 10, 2021, RPMon as a specialized unit of the Corporation, aims to add convergent efforts to enhance the Institution’s presence action. In this way, it operates in ostensible policing by setting up, adding to other policing processes already established and in progress. Cavalry is also used in shock operations, in the reestablishment of public order and peace, whether in urban or rural areas.

Furthermore, in an associated and integrated way, it serves equine therapy, a therapeutic resource that uses horses in an interdisciplinary approach in the areas of health, education and horse riding.
