Suspect of stealing a piece of meat is attacked by supermarket employees in MG
The Civil Police of Lavras (MG) is investigating the attack suffered by a man suspected of stealing a piece of meat from a supermarket by the establishment’s security guards. Two security cameras would have captured the entire situation.
In one of the images, you can see all the confusion in the left corner at the supermarket door. You can see three security guards trying to hold the suspect, who at times tries to resist. Other employees and customers end up seeing the entire situation.
From another angle, the images show the moment of the attacks in a room, which looks like a warehouse. Security guards try to enter the place with the suspect. He resists and it is at that moment that the employees begin to hit him with punches.
In the images, three employees appear. Two try to hold the man by the arms and head, while another commits these attacks.
The situation happened last Saturday (4). The 24-year-old suspect in the theft allegedly took a piece of meat, put it inside his clothes and left without paying. The Military Police were called and the man was arrested and taken to the UPA to carry out a criminal investigation, standard procedure for incidents.
The Military Police said that at no time were they informed that the employees had attacked the suspect. He was taken to the police station, but paid bail and was released.
The Civil Police reported that they were not aware of the images showing the attacks, but that, now in possession of the content, the case will be investigated and those involved will give a statement.
In a statement, Grupo ABC informed that it repudiates any practice of violence and that it has already started internal investigations. The supermarket also said that all employees who appear in the video have been fired. The company also said that it is available to the authorities for further clarification.
