A 16-year-old teenager was arrested by the Military Police after harassing his 42-year-old teacher inside the classroom at the Colégio Estadual Militarizado Maria Sonia De Brito Oliva, in the Pintolândia neighborhood, west of Boa Vista. The case happened this Tuesday (7).
When contacted, the State Department of Education (Seed), responsible for the school, said that reports were registered with the Student Body and Educational Guidance Command, which will be forwarded to the department’s Psychosocial Division for appropriate action.
“Regarding the possibility of expulsion of the student, we inform you that, in accordance with the Regulations of Militarized Colleges, in cases of very serious misconduct such as the one that occurred, a Disciplinary Pedagogical Council will be appointed. This committee will have the mission of investigating the student’s responsibilities so that there is a fair and adequate solution for the case in question”, he said.
According to Seed, the “college is committed to providing all the necessary support to guarantee the professional’s well-being.” The secretariat also reported that this was the first record of the situation within the school.
To the police, the victim told that she was taking a geography class when the student asked if she “wanted to go to a motel”. The teacher asked the student to respect her, warned him, stating that she would not accept his behavior in the classroom, and asked him to sit down.
After the action, the student got up again, walked towards the teacher and pinched her belly. Then he asked if the teacher wanted a kiss, as he was needy.
As a result, the victim asked him to leave the classroom. The student was taken to the Child and Youth Defense Police Station (DDIJ) for the necessary measures.
The teacher was advised to file a police report with the DDIJ. The incident was registered at the same police unit.
