Rio – The Civil Police arrested two people, this Wednesday (8), in operation Server Out, which aims to prevent attacks against schools in the state. According to the Child and Adolescent Victim Police Station (DCAV), the crimes were being combined online, through social networks.

The two prisoners, aged 18 and 20, were identified based on information obtained by the DCAV intelligence sector, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP).
During the investigation, agents discovered that the pair exchanged messages through the Discord application, which works as a message and audio chat.

The action also took place in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais, Roraima and São Paulo, where a suspect was also arrested. In total, seven search and seizure warrants and four arrest warrants were issued.

Among the crimes investigated were criminal association, incitement to crime and corruption of minors.

During the searches, agents seized electronic devices and other materials at the addresses of those being investigated. The content will undergo forensic examination and will be analyzed to assist in investigations.

In a note, Discord informed that it cooperates with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), Ciberlab and local authorities for ‘Operation Server Out’, in addition to offering a wide range of public security issues to keep Brazilians more insurance.

The company also reported that, earlier this year, it provided information that helped law enforcement authorities arrest or apprehend more than 300 individuals linked to planned attacks on schools. “We have strict policies regarding harmful activities on our platform and are committed to ensuring that our platform is a positive and safe environment for our users in Brazil,” he said in the statement.

Finally, the company defended that Discord is used by Brazilians to have positive interactions: “99% of Brazilian Discord communities did not violate our policies”, he explained.
