Manaus/AM – A section of the AM-070 highway, which suffered subsidence in the lane, will be closed and will undergo works from Thursday (9). The highway is the main link between the capital of Amazonas and the municipalities of Iranduba, Manacapuru and Novo Airão.
The State Secretariat for Infrastructure (Seinfra) reported that after learning of images showing a section giving way, it went to the scene and found that it was an earth movement, located at KM 45, the cause of which will be investigated from of the start of excavations for correction.
The company responsible for the highway duplication work was immediately called and from tomorrow (09), it will begin mobilizing machines to work on site.
Seinfra also informs that, as it presents a risk to drivers, the area is already being isolated and properly marked, so that the correction work can be carried out as safely as possible.
The deadline for completing the work is 15 days.
