This week, from Thursday (9) to Saturday (11), Baixo Gávea will host an unprecedented event focused on creativity and sustainability: the Footprints of Gávea It will bring together quality brands from clothing to furniture, including ceramics, cycling, multi-brands, lingerie, investments, sustainable fashion, floral art, music and gastronomy.
From 11am to 8pm, visitors to the free event will experience an immersive journey, with workshops, mini-classes, live music, art and other activities. Brands such as Casa de Antônia, Casa dos Oitis, Cida Cerâmica, Danielian, Galeria Movimento, Suzana Cerâmica, Haz, Guimas, Brewteco and Proa, among others, participate in the group.

This Saturday (11), from 12pm to 9pm, Solar das Palmeiras (Rua das Palmeiras, 35, Botafogo) hosts the Jewelery Expo, which features more than 20 signature jewelry brands. The free entry event is a meeting dedicated to small jewelers from all over Brazil. Valuing silver pieces, the event will also feature food and music. The curatorship is by Livi Pires, who is also a goldsmith, professor and director of the Brazilian Jewelery School (EBJ).

On Saturday (11) and Sunday (12), the historic building of the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB) will host the fair The market (Rua do Pinheiro 10, Flamengo), in celebration of its 13th anniversary, with pre-launches of capsule collections for the Rio summer. From 11 am to 7 pm, with free entry, the event marks the meeting of independent designers, artists, artisans and stylists from the city, and there it will be possible to find pieces such as personalized beach chairs, bikinis in biodegradable fabric, natural vegan cosmetics, sculptures in iron, ceramic utilities and others. The highlight is the participation of the indigenous dolls Bonecas Anaty, handmade and sold exclusively by warriors of the Guaraní Amambé people, who will be present to show their art. The menu will have sandwiches made with naturally fermented bread, cold draft beer and sweets. On Saturday, singer Marcos Paulo fills the tour with live music and a repertoire that takes you back in time.

Also on the 11th and 12th, the Balzak 40, a fashion, art and gastronomy collective, publishes an edition that celebrates Blue November, prostate cancer prevention month. From 11am to 7pm, the event takes place at Cobal do Leblon (Rua Gilberto Cardoso, s/nº) with discounts on brands that have joined the awareness campaign. Brands, such as Mari Severiano Ribeiro, of semi-jewelry; Saito Shibori, of clothes made using ancient dyeing techniques; and Atelier de la Maison, with aromas for environments, will offer 10% discounts on special blue pieces. The collective also offers many gastronomic options. Among them, YouCake, with homemade cakes and naked cakes; Ser Pão, with naturally fermented bread; Da Babi, with cashew nut-based cheeses and jams without preservatives and colorings; and Café Delota, with special blends.

At Praia Vermelha, in Urca, the Carioquíssima has its stage at Praça General Tibúrcio, on the 11th and 12th, with an average of 80 participating brands, including decoration, art, gastronomy, clothing and accessories and other segments. From 2pm to 10pm, there will also be shows, DJs and children’s attractions on the schedule. The band Notturnia plays its lively mix of flashbacks on Saturday, and musician Marcelo Ceará performs his eclectic voice and guitar show on Sunday. Performances always take place at 7pm, with free entry.

Saturday and Sunday will be equally lively at Praça Nossa Senhora da Paz, from 12pm to 8pm, with the fair The Fuxico, bringing together music and varied cuisine, in an event for the whole family. With dozens of exhibitors, fashion, crafts and children’s attractions. Six shows are scheduled, such as forró by Comadre e Cia, Confraria Carioca, and the pop rock duo Phil & Guga.

In Botafogo, an old mansion on Rua São Clemente, 175, will house the Orla Festival, on Saturday and Sunday, from 12pm to 9pm. The event brings together fashion, decoration and well-being brands, as well as an area dedicated to gastronomy, art and music. During both days, DJs will provide the intimate soundtrack, and on Saturday, at 5pm, musician Theo Bial will perform. On Sunday it’s the turn of Bruno Fernandez, finalist on The Voice, at 5pm. In the front garden of the palace there will be a performance of poetry by authors from female collectives, as well as art exhibitions. The place was the former home of General Osório’s family and is a great opportunity to visit, free of charge, this neoclassical style property that still stands in the South Zone. In terms of gastronomy, brands such as Orla Café, Gastronomia Espetinhos, Dogaria NY, Ovni will be present. Burger, and Cervejaria Backbone, among others.
