An elderly man, aged 71, was arrested this Tuesday (7 November), suspected of shooting his own son, aged 43, in the face during a fight. The case was registered in Campestre, in the south of Minas Gerais.
According to information from the Minas Gerais Military Police, the victim said he had a family disagreement with his father. The elderly man then went to his son’s room and shot him in the face. The two got into a fight, and the younger man managed to leave the property and call for help.
The police arrived at the residence and found the elderly man with a shotgun in his hand. The man refused to give himself up and kept saying he would take his own life. One of the police officers managed to disarm him and arrest him.
The victim was taken to the emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries. The elderly man was arrested and taken to the police station.
