The State Department of Health of Acre (Sesacre), through the State Center for Men’s Health, began this week a round of lectures on men’s health, in consideration of Blue November, breast cancer awareness month. prostate and men’s overall health.
The first lecture was held in the auditorium of the Memorial dos Autonomistas on Tuesday, 7th, for more than 60 employees of the Acre Water and Sewage Service (Saneacre). This Wednesday, the 8th, it was the turn of men from Santa Juliana Hospital to learn more about “The Importance of Fatherhood and Care for the family and community”.
Jhonata Paiva, coordinator of the State Center for Men’s Health at Sesacre, was one of the speakers.
“It is an opportunity that Sesacre is bringing to raise awareness among the male population about comprehensive men’s health care. In this sense, we are developing several activities throughout the month and these lectures are part of this program that also includes the offer of services such as updating the vaccination card, rapid tests, laboratory tests, psychology services”, declared Paiva.
The Blue November program continues throughout the month, however, although the actions related to the date began in October, with various activities, the official launch will only take place this Thursday, 9th, starting at 9am, in the Hospital auditorium Urgency and Emergency Department of Rio Branco (Huerb).
At the location, whose target audience for the action is made up of civil servants and the general public, there will be an offer of rapid tests, vaccination updates, PSA tests (mainly used to screen for prostate cancer) and Rh factor (a test that indicates whether the blood is positive or negative).
Also on Thursday, a conversation about men’s health will be held from 10 am. The men present will also be able to have auriculotherapy sessions.
On the 13th, starting at 8 am, a new lecture will be held in the auditorium of the Estácio Unimeta college, in Rio Branco, with military firefighters as its target audience.
The themes will be: The importance of self-care and comprehensive care for men’s health, taught by nurse Jhonata Paiva, master in health sciences (Ufac) and coordinator of the State Center for Men’s Health at Sesacre; Paternity and care, with nurse Marília Araújo, technical reference from the State Center for Women’s Health (Sesacre); and the last one, about World Diabetes Day, with nephrologist nurse Mayra Wolter, head of the Chronic Disease Prevention Center, also at Sesacre.
