The initiative is a partnership between the State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation (Seciteci-MT), the Mato Grosso Technological Park and the Mato Grosso Research Support Foundation (Fapemat), being considered one of the main opportunities for strengthening the ecosystem of State innovation.
One of the main connections guaranteed for the award winners is the connection between researchers and company representatives, promoting innovative actions through exclusive consultancy for up to one year.
In this edition, the Government of Mato Grosso increased the number of scholarships for researchers who will work with companies from six to nine, also promoting the interaction between theory and practice. With the incentive, the winners will have the chance to develop new innovation projects and increase their competitiveness in the market.
According to the coordinator of the MT Technological Park, Rogério Nunes, the award is an unprecedented action in the country and places the State in a prominent position in encouraging innovation.
“It’s a practically unique award in Brazil. For this third edition, we have a lot of expectations, mainly because the award has grown and spread among companies in the State. We intend to expand this reach even further and consider these companies on their merits”, stated the coordinator.
Previous editions
One of the companies participating in the award is Teak Resources Co (TRC), which came in 1st place in the medium company category during the 2nd edition of the award. According to the administrative manager, Adriano Teixeira, the award contributed to the development of a green fertilizer that is now considered a highlight on the global market.
“We are grateful for the initiative for providing us with an open and safe environment to innovate every day. Currently, the award is leveraging a research grant for a new green fertilizer, Biochar, a pioneering initiative in our portfolio, which was especially highlighted by the Inova MT Award, consolidating our position in the global market”, said Adriano.
Tarcisio Marchiore, owner of Jong Kombucha, highlighted the impact that actions like this have on companies that are just starting out. Awarded second place in the 2021 edition and first in 2023, your company received a scholarship in the area of food engineering.
“It was an award that added a lot to the growth of our brand and our product. We were starting to sell Kombucha and there was no way to keep an effective engineer. With the scholarship, we were able to study better, delve deeper into some issues and standardize our product. Because of the available engineers, today we have a standardized product”, stated Tarcísio.
The Notary Office of the Third Office of Cuiabá was also awarded in 2023, taking second place in the medium-sized category. Daniel Benedito, notary and civil registrar at the registry office, pointed out the opportunity that the Inova Award provides for those who want to be part of this innovation circuit,
“By participating in the award, going to the awards, you are part of this ecosystem and meet people, auditors, companies and entrepreneurs who are on this journey of innovation and understand that innovation is a business to make money and become productivity”, highlighted Benedito.
