Accused of killing an employee, bakery owner in RN goes to jury this Thursday; understand

The 2nd Court of the District of João Câmara will hold, from 9 am next Thursday (11/9), a trial session of the Jury Court whose defendant is the owner of a bakery in that municipality accused by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the crime of double-qualified homicide, for a futile reason and through a resource that made it difficult for him to defend the victim, an employee of his trade. The information was released by the Court of Justice of Rio Grande do Norte on Tuesday (7).

The trial provides for the hearing of seven witnesses, four of whom are called by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and three by the defendant’s defense. The session is expected to last until 7pm next Thursday, at the João Maria Furtado Desembargador Forum, located on Avenida Artur Ferreira da Soledade, s/n, Alto do Ferreira, Centro, João Câmara.

According to the complaint from the state Public Prosecutor’s Office, the crime took place on June 27, 2022, around 7 am, in a bakery located in the center of the Municipality of João Câmara. The accusatory statement states that the victim was at the establishment where he worked, when an argument began with the accused, his boss and owner of the bakery, related to the victim’s failure to appear at the workplace the previous day.

It is also stated in the procedural records that, shortly after the argument, the accused left the scene, returning shortly after, at which point he picked up a knife that was on the table and struck the victim, who had his head down, carrying out his work with the bread. After striking the blow, the accused got into the car and fled the scene.
