A doctor went to a Military Police mobile base this Tuesday (7/8) to report that he was attacked by a military police officer inside an office in the Vila da Serra neighborhood, in Nova Lima, Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte.
According to the doctor’s version, the police officer invaded the office, without authorization, saying he wanted to speak privately with the doctor. The suspect then closed the door, took a wooden stick from his waist and attacked the victim. The doctor even claims he was slapped in the face.
The police officer accused the doctor of having an extramarital relationship with his wife and, according to the victim, stated that he would shoot if he had a gun.
Staff and other patients managed to intervene in the fight and separate the two. The police officer then left the office.
In a statement to the Military Police, the police officer denied the attacks, said that he went to the doctor’s office to question him about his extramarital relationship with his wife and that he waited for the appointments to end to talk.
In the military’s version, the doctor got excited, tried to expel him from the place and punched him in the chest.
The doctor was taken to the hospital for examination.
The Civil Police reported that the doctor and the soldier were taken to the 2nd State Digital Duty Center, where they were interviewed and released. PCMG also clarified that it opened an investigation in order to determine the circumstances surrounding the facts.
