Last Monday (November 6), the Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG) reported that a 15-year-old teenager would be responsible for creating “nudes” with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) of at least ten girls. The perpetrator and victims are students at a private school in Belo Horizonte.
The investigation began after complaints from the mothers of the two teenagers, aged 14 and 15. Those responsible approached the Specialized Police for the Investigation of Infractional Acts (DEAI) on October 16th of this year. The author of the montages created a profile on social media to publish pornographic and pejorative photos, edited using artificial intelligence. The page has been removed from the web.
“As soon as this Specialized Police Station was requested, the profile was removed from the air, and in less than ten days, it was possible to identify the perpetrator, demonstrating that the Civil Police are attentive and able to act in these crime scenarios that occur in the digital environment ”, explained delegate Ângelo Ramalho, responsible for the investigation.
After identifying the author, the police applied socio-educational measures to the author. The Infractional Act Investigation Procedure (PAAI) was forwarded to the Children and Youth Court in the capital. The boy could be held responsible for the crime and committed to a Socio-Educational Center for up to three years.
