President Lula sent a message to the ministers during a ceremony at the Palace, this Wednesday, 8th. He said that they should look for parliamentarians to negotiate the allocation of resources for parliamentary amendments to government projects and thus prevent it from being played “money out” in works that are not interesting.

“It is important to discuss with parliamentarians [sobre emendas]. You can’t throw money away. We need to concentrate efforts on major works”, he said.

Lula also signaled that this should occur with the consent of the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa. Parliamentary amendments are an instrument for the allocation of public resources by the deputy or senator.

“We will discuss it with the group of deputies and senators. It’s important, Rui [Costa, ministro da Casa Civil]that when we discuss certain amendments from parliamentarians, our ministers seek out parliamentarians, show the importance of the project, show what is important, because we cannot make amendments either, doing work that does not matter”he added.

On the eve of an election year, the government has shown concern about guaranteeing resources to carry out works at the beginning of 2024, especially within the New PAC.

Lula participated this Wednesday in the signing of the work order for the duplication of BR-423, in the 43.1 kilometer stretch that connects the cities of São Caetano and Lajedo in Pernambuco.
