This week, the Brazilian School Games (JEB’s) 2023 in Brasília were the scene of an impressive performance for Amazonas in Wrestling, the Amazonas team won a total of 12 medals, including six gold medals, 4 silver and 2 bronze.
Wrestling, also known as Luta Livre, is a martial art that involves grappling techniques, such as clinch fighting, throws, takedowns, locks, pins and other grappling moves. During the competition, two or more competitors face each other, trying to gain and maintain a superior position over their opponent.
Among the champion athletes from Amazonas in the individual are Ana Heloyse, Jennifer Queiroz, João Matheus and Milena Santana who won gold medals, demonstrating their exceptional skills in Wrestling.
Dylan Estaba, Sthefanny Sophia, Otávio Rodrigues and Felipe Motta Vieira, silver medalists, and Naiã Ferreira with bronze in the gold series, reinforce the team’s strength.
Amazonas also shone in the general classifications. The Amazonian men’s team won +1 gold in the gold series, while the women’s team, +1 gold in the silver series, guaranteeing 2 golds overall and a bronze in the women’s children’s team (per team).
