Representative Bia de Lima (PT) presented this Tuesday, 7th, a bill that establishes the Environmental Preservation Awareness Program with activities in schools in the State of Goiás, to be developed in the month of June.
According to the project’s justification, the creation of the program is an initiative that aims to take advantage of the period celebrating World Environment Day to promote environmental education in a playful and participatory way.
“The proposal is for leisure activities, tours and educational excursions to be carried out, which will allow children and young people to have direct contact with nature, experiencing enriching experiences that encourage respect for the environment and the adoption of sustainable practices in their daily lives” , says the deputy.
“Promoting environmental awareness from childhood is essential to form citizens committed to sustainability and capable of acting as agents of transformation in their communities”, added Bia de Lima.
The parliamentarian also reinforces that environmental education is a powerful instrument to raise awareness in children and young people of the importance of preserving natural resources and biodiversity.
Activities
According to the bill, during the month of June, public and private schools in Goiás will be encouraged to participate in the program, including actions aimed at preserving the environment in their curricular and extracurricular activities.
Still according to the proposal, the activities must be developed in partnership with environmental agencies, environmental protection entities and civil society organizations, seeking to strengthen the collective commitment to preserving the environment.
