Governor even cuts hygiene material and university paralyzes in Alagoas

The Council of the Zumbi dos Palmares Campus of the State University of Alagoas (Uneal), decided to suspend all activities of the higher education unit located in União dos Palmares (AL), starting this Wednesday (8). The deliberation that took place in an extraordinary meeting was justified by budget cuts imposed by the government of Paulo Dantas (MDB), which even affected hygiene materials.

“Due to the budget cut imposed by the State Government, the campus is unable to purchase products and pay for services; there is no cleaning and hygiene materials, making the environments unhealthy”, detailed the note from the board of the Uneal Campus in the city where national hero Zumbi dos Palmares led the greatest act of resistance to slavery in the colonial period.

The note published yesterday (7) criticizes the cuts made by the governor re-elected in 2022 with the support of President Lula (PT) and senators Renan Calheiros and Renan Filho. And it also highlights problems that make it difficult and prevent students from graduating, resulting from the failure to hold public competitions for technicians and teachers. And it indicates that a new meeting will evaluate the situation next Monday (13), when the next actions against the neglect of the government of Renan Filho’s successor, now Lula’s Transport Minister, will be analyzed.
