People across Brazil use Google Search in a variety of ways to search for information, from learning new skills to verifying information they heard from a friend, purchasing a product or finding out the latest results for their favorite football team. Over the past 25 years, we’ve continued to innovate Search, making it simpler and smarter than ever.

Part of that mission includes developing completely new ways to go beyond the search box, powered by our latest advances in AI — whether searching visually with Lens or using images and text with Multisearch, launched last February in Brazil. Just to give you an idea, people use Lens for 12 billion visual searches per month – a fourfold increase in just two years, and a growing number of these searches are multimodal, meaning they include text and images together.

With new advances in generative AI, we are once again reimagining what a search engine can do. With this powerful new technology, we can unlock a whole new universe of questions you never imagined Search could answer and transform the way information is organized. This way, people will be able to delve deeper into a topic they are researching or discover new content.

In May, at Google I/O, we shared our first steps in this new era of Search and introduced Search Labs, a new way to access early experiments in Search, including generative AI capabilities.

Today, we are very happy to announce that we are bringing Search Labs and SGE, Generative Search Experience, to Brazil, in Portuguese.

Improving Search with Generative AI

With new generative AI capabilities in Search, we want to make searching easier so you can understand a topic faster, discover new insights and insights, and get things done more easily.

Let’s answer a question like “How to join a women’s football team? “. Normally, you can split this question into several others, sort through the vast information available and start “putting the pieces together”. With generative AI, Search can do some of this work for you. You will be able to see a description of the result based on in AI based on the main information to be considered, with links to go deeper. In Brazil, you will also be able to listen to the answer, a well-used resource in the country.
