This Tuesday afternoon (7/11) the semi-final phase of the National Men’s Handball League of the 2023 season began. This stage of the national championship is being held in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, and brings together 10 clubs from all over Brazil that are separated into two groups, with five teams in each. Among the participants is Handebol Brasília/Iesb, representing the Federal District in the competition.
Handebol Brasília/Iesb managed to advance to the semi-finals of the National Handball League after being champions of the Central-West Conference, which was held in Maracaju, Mato Grosso do Sul, in August. The team beat the União ABC Stilo Handebol team twice, by scores of 27 to 22 and 22 to 21. The two victories against the opponent qualified the representative of the Federal District for the semifinal stage, in São Paulo.

The first games of this stage of the competition took place on Tuesday (7/11), however, the square team debuts this Wednesday (8/11). The match will take place against Praia Clube, from Uberlândia, at 6pm, and will be broadcast on official channel of the Brazilian Handball Confederation, via YouTube. Handebol’s opponent Brasília/Iesb debuted with a 28-26 victory against Aciseg/Vegus Guarulhos.
The club from the Federal District is in group A of the semi-final stage, together with Taubaté/TCC, GHC Uninassau, Praia Clube and Asiceg/Vegus Guarulhos. Group B is made up of Nacional São José/Unisul, Carajás Assedecp, Português FMO, Esporte Clube Pinheiros and Handebol Itajaí Aceu/Adhi/Fmel. The top two in each group advance to the final stage, which will be held in December, in Rio de Janeiro.
