Pieces of the glass plate would have hit the young man’s artery; victim was taken to medical care, but died in the treatment room
A 27-year-old man was killed after being attacked with a plate in Itajaí, on the North Coast of Santa Catarina, in the early hours of this Sunday (5). According to the victim’s family, the young man’s girlfriend was responsible for the crime.
The Military Police were called to the UPA (Emergency Care Unit) in the Cordeiros neighborhood due to a man who was admitted to medical care with serious injuries. In conversation with the young man’s mother, she informed the police that her son and her 25-year-old daughter-in-law had argued and she had thrown a glass plate at the victim. Version confirmed by the young man’s sister who was at the scene.
The doctor at the health unit reported that the man had already arrived with several injuries and that he showed signs of cardiac arrest, as the glass had probably hit an artery. An attempt was made to perform resuscitation maneuvers, but the man did not resist and died.
In the house where the young man lived, pieces of broken dishes and a lot of blood were found. The house was isolated for forensic examination by the Scientific Police. The girlfriend, suspected of the crime, fled the scene and was not found.
