The first day of Enem, this Sunday (5), had 26.4% abstention in Santa Catarina, slightly below the national rate, which was 28.1%. Different from 2021the State did not have the lowest rate in the South of the country, which this year was Rio Grande do Sul, with 25.6%.

On the first day, registrants had to complete a essay with the theme “Challenges for confronting the invisibility of care work carried out by women in Brazil”, in addition to answering questions about languages ​​and human sciences.

Santa Catarina has 91,261 people registered to take the Enem in 2023, 62% of whom are women and more than half (47 thousand people) are between 17 and 18 years old. Florianópolis is the municipality with the largest number of participants. In total, 11,316 candidates have the capital of Santa Catarina as the exam location.

The lowest abstention rate in the country on the first day of the test was in Sergipe, with 24.6%. The biggest was in Amazonas, where 44% of students did not attend the teaching units to ask the questions.
