Recently sworn in as the new president of the TJ-SC, judge Altamir de Oliveira has his eyes on the 2024 elections, but not on the Judiciary. He is considering running for mayor in Lages, where he worked for 17 years as a judge.

However, Altamiro intends to listen to governor Jorginho Mello (PL) first. If Carmen Zanotto is the party’s candidate, the judge should back down from the idea and continue with the TJ-SC.
The judge’s son has already been a councilor in two legislatures in Lages. Furthermore, he contested the 2020 election as a vice candidate on the ticket of now state deputy Lucas Neves (Podemos).
