In the month of October alone, the Alagoas Military Police (PMAL) seized 122 firearms and 391 kilos of narcotics in Alagoas. The data are from the Statistics and Applied Science Sector of the 2nd Section of the Corporation’s General Staff. According to the institution, the removal of material from circulation contributes to security in the state.
In addition to the seizures, 107 Detailed Reports of Occurrence drawn up by Military Police were recorded.
Of the firearms seizures, the city with the highest number of weapons seized was Maceió (39), followed by Arapiraca (13), and União dos Palmares and Piranhas (both with 8).
Regarding the quantity of narcotics removed from circulation, Arapiraca was the municipality that had the highest number of seizures, with more than 202kg of drugs seized. She was followed by Inhapi (150kg) and Maceió (18kg).
For the general commander of PMAL, Colonel Paulo Amorim, the joint efforts of the police and Public Security of Alagoas, under the command of Secretary Flávio Saraiva, have been achieving relevant results in the seizure of illicit goods.
“We are on the streets and we are not going to stop! Our garrisons are committed to bringing security to the people of Alagoas and our efforts will continue”, said the general commander.
