An accident at around 10pm on Saturday (4), between a Military Police vehicle and a motorcycle, left six people injured in Feira de Santana. Four military police officers who work in the 65th Independent Military Police Company (CIPM) and two people who occupied the motorcycle.
According to Major Jorge Freitas, commander of the 65th CIPM, the vehicle had its lights and siren on and was occupied by a corporal, and three soldiers who were going to respond to a gunshot incident on Avenida João Durval Carneiro. at the intersection with Rua Dr. João Mangabeira, located in the Brasília neighborhood, where the collision occurred. The motorcycle was partially destroyed and the vehicle tried to avoid it, but collided with a lamp post.
The two people who occupied the motorcycle were delivering food and were taken to the Clériston Andrade General Hospital (HGCA).
According to Major Jorge Freitas, two police officers suffered broken arms, are at Emec Hospital and will undergo surgery. The other two did not have serious injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle was seriously injured and the passenger suffered minor injuries.
The Technical Police Department (DPT) responsible for the investigation and the Municipal Traffic Superintendence (SMT) were at the scene.
“The fact will be investigated and from the investigation the circumstances of the accident will be accurately verified. I have no way of specifying the health status of the people who were on the motorcycle. They went to HGCA. I will personally check the situation of everything”, declared the major.
