Candidates for the National High School Examination (Enem) in the Federal District took to the streets of the capital to arrive at the test sites for the first day of selection, this Sunday (5/11). At Universidade Paulista (Unip), located in Asa Sul, at around 11:50 am, students were already waiting for the gates to open, which close at 1 pm.

Roberta Cristina Antunes, 40 years old, is a biology teacher and is studying to gain a place in medicine through the exam. The teacher wants to make a career transition and, therefore, has dedicated herself for four years to returning to higher education. During this period, she prepared herself through pre-university courses and studies at home.

“I’m trying to make a career transition and decided to go into medicine. I started studying during the pandemic but now I’ve managed to dedicate myself more, I hope I can pass this test but I also trust in God to help guide my paths and what’s best for me”, explains the teacher, who also teaches class for students in the public school system.

Upon arriving in front of the test site, Roberta stopped her journey to receive a prayer from a religious group that offered prayers and consolation with the image of a saint at the site.

In front of the college, the movement of students arriving to take the exam is large. Street vendors, school and cram school teachers, family members and nervous students walk towards the school located in Asa Sul.

An opportunity to train

Student Khauan Dias, 16 years old, is in his second year of high school. He appeared for the exam to take the test in the trainee format. The student intends to take a medical course.

“It’s important that I take the test today to get a feeling of what it’s like, what awaits me there, and how I can improve to take the exam next year, which is when it will be valid for me”.

The student was accompanied by his father Joaquim dos Santos, who took him to the school door. “I try to encourage my son to study, I always tell him to look for material on the internet and I brought him today so that he can really understand the time he needs to take the exam and how to fill out an answer card”.
