CBF announces calendar of main competitions

A Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) released this Tuesday (31) the calendar of the main national competitions of Brazilian football in 2024.

The main novelty for next year will be the holding of a game that will also serve as the opening ceremony of the Brasileirão Série A 2024.

“For the first time in history, we will have an inaugural game of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. It will be a great party to celebrate the beginning of the championship, which is the most disputed in the world. The CBF will continue working in our management to make competitions increasingly profitable for the clubs and exciting for Brazilian fans”, declared the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, on the entity’s website.

The match is already scheduled for April 13th, one day before the other games in the first round of the Brasileirão in 2024. The location of the game and the teams that will participate have not yet been defined.

In the same interview on the CBFEdnaldo Rodrigues also pointed out that no matches will be played Brasileirão Série A during FIFA Date periods in 2024

After the change in the 2023 calendar, the Brazil’s Cup 2024 will once again have two finals played on two Sundays – on the 3rd and 10th of November next year.
