The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) reported, this Thursday (25/5), that telephone operators will be able to request, as of May 30, the 5G signal in more than 459 municipalities, where 138 million Brazilians live — 64.7% of the country’s population.
According to Anatel, at the moment, 1,423 Brazilian cities will have the 3.5 GHz band released for use by 5G stations. In addition, to access the services, you must have a cell phone compatible with the technology.
It is worth mentioning that the release of the band does not mean that 5G networks will be installed immediately in the municipalities. According to Anatel, the anticipated installation of fifth generation stations in these cities depends on the individual planning of each operator.
