When the duel between Brazil and Serbia begins, starting at 4 pm (Brasília time) this Thursday (24), at the World Cup in Qatar, Brazilians will also have more offers available in the Black Friday preview, retail event to be held this Friday (25).
A study by Promobit, a platform for promotions and discounts, shows that the main retailers operating in the country will launch a large volume of offers as early as 4 pm this Thursday, when the Brazilian team will be on the pitch. Another peak of discounts will occur between 11 pm today and 1 am on Friday. During the official Black Friday day, on Friday, the times with the most ads will be 11 am, 2 pm and 3 pm.
“The World Cup is the novelty of the year and certainly during the games in Brazil, on Thursday and Monday, we will have many offers and fewer people buying, since football is the national passion. This turns out to be an excellent opportunity for those who want to take advantage of Black Friday. After the games, the expectation, according to our data, is that the flow of people buying will come back almost instantly and the competition for good promotions will become fiercer”, analyzes Gabriel Alves, director of sales and marketing at Promobit.
According to Alves, the first half of November registered a 20% increase in the number of offers compared to the same period in 2021, a trend that was guided by the anticipation of discounts extending the day of promotions to a monthly scale.
Time highlights by categories
The Promobit study also highlights some product categories and the best offer times to purchase them. Those looking for clothes or shoes will have more opportunities for offers at 9 pm this Thursday.
In the menswear category, promotions will continue strong after midnight. On Friday, the offers will start popping up after 3 pm, peaking at 11 pm.
For those looking for women’s fashion items, the peak will be from 9 pm on Thursday until 11 pm. On Friday, the offers will follow with more force between 12h and 13h.
Those who want to change cell phones will not have such a specific time window because the offers are more scattered. However, it is still at the turn from Thursday to Friday that the greatest number of offers are concentrated, starting the climb at 9 pm and only reducing at 1 am on Friday, when the biggest peak of promotions occurs.
According to the study, the behavior encompasses iPhones and Android devices, with the difference that the volume of offers for non-Apple products is much higher.
For TVs, the tip is to pay attention to the offers from 9 pm this Thursday, when the biggest peak occurs, until 1 am on Friday, when the promotions start to decrease. For home appliances, the best time is between 9 am and 11 am on Friday (25).
The Promobit study considers the offer windows for the various categories since 2019 to outline an overview of the best time to buy.
