What positions are contested in the 2022 elections
Upon arriving at their respective polling places, voters will be able to choose their candidates for five available positions: federal deputy, state deputy, senator, governor and president of the Republic.
Congressman
Federal deputies represent the Brazilian people at the national level. It is up to them to draft laws that cover the entire territory of Brazil, in addition to working as supervisors of whoever is acting as President of the Republic.
One of its most notorious attributions is the creation of the CPIs, the Parliamentary Inquiry Commissions, which are formed through a request made by at least one third of the parliamentarians.

state deputy
State Representatives represent the population of the state of their voters. As members of the Legislative Assembly, it is the duty of deputies to watch over the body of state laws, proposing, revoking, amending or altering legislation. One of its attributions is to supervise state government spending.

senator
Senators are responsible for representing their states in the National Congress. In addition to the functions shared with the members of the Chamber of Deputies, such as legislating and supervising the acts of the Executive Branch, there are specific functions for senators.
An example of these specific functions is the possibility, based on a determination made in the Federal Constitution of 1988, for senators to judge and prosecute crimes of responsibility perpetrated by the president, vice president, commanders of the Armed Forces, ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). ), Attorney General of the Republic and Attorney General of the Union, among others.

Governor
